Requirement

Using just two ingredients – culture and cuisine – cook up an authentic and distinctive brand identity for a new Italian ‘peasant food’ restaurant in Richmond.

Response

Find inspiration at the source, with a name honouring the high-achieving mythical twin founders of Rome; and a design and typographic treatment informed by the roughhewn edging and hand lettering typical of the first Roman coins.

Result

According to Broadsheet, "Romulus & Remus have taken Richmond as their own with a large space built around traditional feasting". We'd love to suggest our branding is the exclusive reason, but great food and friendly staff would be far closer to the truth.
